Vapid Lacquer Hypo-Manic and Sleep Deprivation

On the blog today I have the final 2 polishes that Kristen from Vapid Lacquer (also the owner of Smelly Goods & Pretties) sent me to review this round.

I was lucky enough to get pictures on Sunday when the sun was out! (My neighbors probably thought I was nuts with all the times I went out to take pictures of my nails. hehehe)

First up: Hypo-Manic

Hypo-Manic has a gorgeous copper/orange to magenta shift and was so freaking gorgeous that I was sad to take it off in my swatch fest on Sunday. The formula is wonderful and goes on with no hitches. Smooth and only needed 2 coats (although I still say you can get away with one coat with this one!)

Just look at that gorgeous shift! Where was this polish when I was in college? One year in the dorms I decorated my side of the room in all pink and orange. So in love!

Are you ready for the sun shot? I'd go all corny on you with a meme saying "I don't think you're ready for this jelly," but Hypo-Manic is not a jelly finish.

Ok . . . Ok here it is!!!!

Don't you have fireworks going off in your heart right now? I can't be the only one! This one is going on my favorite polish list for sure!

Next and last on the blog today is: Sleep Deprivation

I was not able to snag a lot of amazing pictures in the sun with this one due to the sun running to hide but I did manage to snag two photos that show it's color shift. :)

Sleep Deprivation has a color shift from an olive greenish color to a pretty violet. Now I will admit that I used about 3 coats for this review. I've talked to Kristen though and she said the new batch is fixed and more pigmented so that you will only need 2 coats.

Look at the color change there! Fab!

Both of these polishes are available on the Vapid Lacquer big cartel site under the BiPolar Collection tab for only $9 each for full size or $5 each for a mini. Also, if you hurry there is a sale going on right now for 15% off until tomorrow (1/22/2014) by midnight. See the image below for coupon code.

Vapid Lacquer Trophy Wife and Hallucinations Swatch/Review

Today on the blog I have two more polishes that Kristen from Vapid Lacquer (also the owner of Smelly Goods & Pretties) sent me to review! I am so excited to show you these polishes.

Two reasons:

1. They are amazeballs!
2. The sun came out to play for one of them and I was soooooooo very ecstatic.

Let me first start by saying. . . I LOVE the formula of both polishes. I used two coats on each but as I have said before. . . you really only need one with how pigmented the polishes are.

First up: Trophy Wife

Trophy Wife is a burnt reddish colored polish and is packed full of holo. (You know how much I love holo!) Sadly, the sun wasn't out to play when I swatched this pictures so I had to use flash to show off the holo. (As shown in the last picture of Trophy Wife below).

I loved wearing Trophy Wife and received so many compliments from ladies at work. The coverage was amazing and paired with Vapid Lacquer's Quick Dry Top Coat, I'm sure it would have lasted many more days had I not taken it off to swatch some other polishes Kristen sent.

BAM! Look at that gorgeous holo shining through. I really wish Mr. Sun came out to play when I did these. You better believe I will be wearing this color again though. I promise to update my facebook page with a sun shot when I do!

Second and last for today: Hallucinations

Hallucinations is another fabulous holo polish that is greenish gold in color. I used 2 coats for this review. Again, the formula is awesome and the polish goes on so smooth. The above picture is taken inside with no flash.

Are you ready for the sun shots?

Ok, ok. . . I had to add that picture in because it really trips me out and honestly . . . so does this gorgeous polish in the sun!

Seriously with this polish???? Are you not in love? Are you ready for sun shot madness?!

Again, absolutely amazing and I am in love with both. Vapid Lacquer's formula has never failed me and I always recommend her amazing Quick Dry Top Coat as well!

Currently, I do not see either of these polishes in the online store, but Kristen has been gradually adding her polishes since she has moved to her big cartel site. Polishes from Vapid Lacquer generally cost from $8-$9, so be on the look out on her facebook page and on the Vapid Lacquer big cartel site for updates and pretties!!

Also, keep an eye out for my next post with Vapid Lacquer - Hypo-manic and Sleep Deprivation! <3

Vapid Lacquer Destined for Greatness and Birthday Suit

Thank you all for your patience while I was away on vacation! If you follow me on instagram then you saw some of the fun I was having out in Colorado.

Right before I left for vacation I received some nail mail from Kristen over at Vapid Lacquer (also known as Smelly Goods & Pretties if you are interested in soaps, lotions and lipgloss). In my nail mail from Vapid Lacquer were 6 beauties for me to review.

Today on the blog are two of those gorgeous polishes.

First up is: Destined for Greatness
(Yes!!! SUN SHOTS!!)

As you can see, Destined for Greatness is a pinkish/purple polish that is packed full of gorgeous holo.

The formula is wonderful! I used only 2 coats for this review, but you could honestly get by with only one coat.

Yep! You heard that right! One coat. Makes you happy doesn't it?

I thought so!

With flash:

Destined for Greatness is a 4 Free polish (does not include the nasty chemicals: Toluene, DBPs, formaldehyde or Camphor) and is also cruelty free.

I love this color so much! I'm going to even paint my toes in it! Destined for Greatness will be available on the Vapid Lacquer big cartel site for only $9 (Full size)!

Next is: Birthday Suit

Are you looking for a nude with a little bit of pizzazz?

Look no further ladies!!

Sadly, Mr. Sun did not come out to play when I was taking pictures of this lovely nude holo. I tried my best to show you that this nude polish is also packed full of holo. Kristen has told me that the new batch has twice the linear holo and she also added some scattered holo. That baby is going to shine!!! (oOo I'm so jelly of you if you get it!!)

Birthday Suit also has a wonderful formula and is 4 Free/cruelty free. I used 2 coats or Birthday Suit for this review.

If you look at the bottle in this picture you can see some of the holo coming out to play.

I showed my friend a picture of the swatch and she said Birthday Suit reminds her of coffee with lots of creme. I have to say. . . I agree with her. (With a whole lot of sparkle added!) Now. . . I am not a huge fan of coffee, but I am a fan of this polish. It is perfect for days when you want a little bit of subtly (but not too much!) I'm going to call this my interview polish. ;)

Birthday Suit will be available on the Vapid Lacquer big cartel site for $9 (Full size)!

Stay tuned on the Smelly Goods & Pretties facebook page to keep find out when these lovelies will be back in stock! In the meantime . . . take a look around on the Vapid Lacquer site at some of the other polishes available or maybe pick up a solid lotion or soap mustache!

Ruby White Tips - Amie

A while back, Ruby White Tips asked what color their fans would make in a polish if they could have any color they wanted. Lots of people entered their ideas (as well as myself) and my color was one of the colors she picked to make!

Now I don't know if you know this. . . but Ruby White Tips has been a brand that I have been lemming over for quite some time. (There is a Breaking Bad line and Laura is also coming out with an American Horror Story line!!!! I am a hugeeeeeee fan of both of those shows!) You can imagine my over the top excitement when Laura mentioned that she would be making my idea for a color! As soon as it was available in the shop . . . I grabbed one right up and Laura also snuck in an extra one for me for free! :) (Thanks Laura!!!!!)

Ruby White Tips: Amie
(With a name like that. . . how could you not like it? Am I right *wink wink*)

Look!!! We had sun!!! (It was negative 19 with a wind chill of negative 47 so you better believe I did another window picture instead of venturing outside!)

Ruby White Tips - Amie is a gorgeous royal blue with scattered micro glitter and 2 sizes of fuchsia glitters. It is also 4 Free (does not include the nasty chemicals) and it is vegan! Like other RWT polishes, some of money from sales from this polish will be donated to a charity. I have not quite decided which one yet. (Any ideas?)

The formula is great and you don't have to fish for the fuchsia glitters. They just come right out! :) I used 2 coats for this review but the polish looks just as gorgeous with only 1 coat and drys fairly fast. (We all love to hear that!)

The rest of these photos were taking under bathroom lighting with no flash.

Can we talk about the adorable bottle? First . . . I love square bottles. No idea why, but I'm a huge fan! Second . . . the cap is so pretty with the pink rhinestones!!! All of Ruby White Tips polishes have a gorgeous decorated cap. Check out the online store to see more!

Some more eye candy for you!

If you love this color like I do. . . you might want to hurry up and buy it, as it is SUPER limited edition!!! A full size bottle is available in the shop for only $9 and remember some of the proceeds will be donated to a charity. Beautiful color. . . good cause. . . it's a win/win situation wouldn't you say?

While you are in the Ruby White Tips shop you should check out her Breaking Bad line (amazing!!!) and also another polish that was made from a fellow bloggers idea. Check out her review on it here: Potions in Motion

Polish Yer Hooves- Angus (Swatch and review)

I'm down to the last polish that I acquired from Leigh Anne's of Polish Yer Hooves amazing Black Friday Weekend sales. I feel like the timing was pretty perfect with this one because if you follow me through Facebook or instagram you will see that tragedy had struck. Here is a picture to refresh your memory.

*gasp* The horror!!!

I had to resort to shorties. Which in turn was OK because this last polish I have for you to see is dark and vampy and we all know that dark and vampy looks good on nubbins. ;)

Polish Yer Hooves - Angus

Angus is a happy medium between a dark gray and black holo polish. I used two thinner coats of polish to achieve this look.

As I always say about polishes from Polish Yer Hooves. . . in love with the formula! Polish goes on easily and simply looks awesome. I got my hair done the other day (dark, short and vampy like my nails hehe) and one of the ladies asked if I had on shellac. <3 See why I love this brand?

Here is Angus with flash so you can see the pretty holo come out. Unfortunately the weather around here has been gloomy, cold and windy. (It is supposed to get up to a wind chill of negative 50 tonight through tomorrow!) Thus . . . no sun shots. :( I tried to wait it out but it doesn't look Mr. Sun will come out to play any time soon!

Angus is not available in Leigh Anne's Etsy shop at the moment but there is a darker limited edition black holo polish, called Night Sky on the Prairie, available if you hurry!

Also, just a reminder: Christmas polishes are on sale right now for $5 each and will only be available until Jan. 8th!!! Hurry up and grab those beauties while they are still available!

Polish Yer Hooves - It's My Present! Swatch and Review

Again for you on the blog I have another Polish Yer Hooves polish that I acquired during the amazing Black Friday Weekend Sales Leigh Anne was holding (with a little extra blogger incentive of course!)

It has been very chilly recently in my area. . . in fact the news mentioned today that it is going to be the coldest our area has been in 3 DECADES! (BRRR!) With that said. . . let's turn up the heat a little with this HOT , completely gorgeous color that is bound to melt the cold away!

Polish Yer Hooves - It's My Present!

It's My Present is a holiday red/pink holo that is only available in Leigh Anne's shop for another week before it's retired (hopefully only until next year!) Get it while it's hot ladies!!!!

We had a little peek of sun today finally! :) It was in the negatives this morning so I managed this photo next to a window (hehe).

As always with the formulas of the polishes Leigh Anne has to offer. . . this formula is exquisite! Put this one up there on my favorite list! One of the best things? Only one coat! (Although if you apply thin coats then probably 2 coats is best).

The below photo is taken with flash.

No flash - simply gorgeous and smooth!

Finally. . . it warmed up a bit but the sun decided to hide. Here is a photo without flash outside! :)

I am super sad to see this one go! I'm going to need another bottle before it's retired! Again, I repeat ladies. . . if you love this color as much as I do . . . you need to go get it NOW! :) OH! I forgot to mention. . . all of the holiday colors are discounted (not including Snowfall) right now. It's My Present is currently only $5!!!!!!!!

Doesn't that put a smile on your face? I know mine is ear to ear right now. :)

Polish Yer Hooves- Snowfall

The past two days have been super snowy, which is why I felt it appropriate to show you Polish Yer Hooves - Snowfall on the blog today! Again, this is a polish I received when taking advantage of a blogger discount Leigh Anne had going on during the Black Friday weekend.

Snowfall is a glitter polish that can be worn alone or as a glitter topper on some undies! I chose to wear mine over some Essie - Aruba Blue undies!
Here is a picture of the undie all alone.

When I first received Snowfall I was a little worried that the glitter would be hard to get out of the bottle, especially the big snowflake glitters. To avoid this problem I held the polish bottle upside down and rolled it back and forth between my hands (as I've been told from other indie brands to do!)

I'm really pleased with how this mani turned out! The glitter was not hard at all for me to get out of the bottle. I did have to do a little bit of fishing for some of the snowflake glitters but I figure that is to be expected.

If you look closely you will see that Snowfall consists of silver and light blue glitter and big snowflake glitters. Pretty gorgeous isn't it?

Polish Yer Hooves - Snowfall can be purchased on Leigh Anne's Etsy page for $9. If you want to see Snowfall without any undies (hehehe) you can check out the pictures through that link as well!

I only have a mini bottle right now but I think I see a full size in my future!

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

;)

I skipped the post with my ABC challenge mani. I am on week "G." If you want to see which polish I wore for my "G" week then please visit my facebook page!
