Easter Nail art!

I'm part of two fabulous nail art groups on Facebook which challenge you to test your nail art skills. Both groups this week have chosen Spring themed challenges. Nail Art Designs theme this week is Easter nails and Challenge Your Nail Art's theme for today is Easter Egg nails. I did a mixture of both!

I can't promise that I will do each day of the Spring Renewal challenge, but I will try. :)

Here are the polishes I used for my Easter nails:

Konad stamping polishes- white, black and light blue
China Glaze- White on white
Dippin Dots polishes

I had a ton of fun with this challege!

Aurora Lacquers swatch and review

***Press Sample***

I am really excited to share a new indie polish brand with you today, Aurora Lacquers. This mother/daughter combo sent me 4 of their new polishes to swatch and review/share with you!

My Fair Lily

My Fair Lily is pale creme polish. Very pale. It's hard to pick up on the pink with a camera but it is there! This is a 5-Free polish. (LOVE this about indies!)

This polish applied very well, only needing 2 thin coats to achieve this look. It is not normally something I would personally go for as a mani by itself, but it is awesome in my opinion for undies and nail art! (Again, just my personal color preference, nothing against the polish. It is lovely. :) )

Poppy Parade

Poppy Parade is a really fun glitter topper that has a pink shimmer to it. Glitters are pink and purple flower shaped and purple, pink and yellow tiny circle shapes. Fun all around! This is also a 5-Free polish. :) I topped Poppy Parade over My Fair Lily.

The shimmer in Poppy Parade was hard to capture with my camera but I was in awe of my fun nails the whole day I had this on! Application was . . . ok. I had no problem pulling base and shimmer out with the polish brush, but had to fish a bit for the glitters. I chalked part of it up to my using a mini bottle. The end result was worth it though and I completely recommend adding this cutie to your collection!

Bunny Grass Pink

Bunny Grass Pink is one of my favorites from these 4 polishes! It is a LIMITED EDITION pink iridescent jelly glitter which is also 5-Free.

With Flash:

So gorgeous! I fell in love right away! Application was amazing and only needed 1 coat of polish to achieve this look!

Easter Grass Green

Easter Grass Green was another one of my favorites! Easter Grass Green is a LIMITED EDITION lime green iridescent jelly glitter. Like the other Aurora Lacquers polishes it is also 5-free!

With Flash:

Easter Grass Green applied like a dream and I fell in love with it straight away. This is only 1 coat of polish! Dry time is great as well.

I was very impressed with these 4 polishes and can't wait to see what else the mother/daughter combo at Aurora Lacquers has up their sleeves! Check out some of their other amazing polishes on their online shop!

Vapid Lacquer - Wooderson

Krys from Vapid Lacquer/Smelly Goods & Pretties recently sent me three polishes from her Good Causes... Good Things line. (Sent for an honest review!) If purchased, a portion of the proceeds from these polishes will be given to charity. The specific charity that the proceeds of these three polishes will go to is the Just Keep Livin Foundation.

"The just keep livin Foundation was started by Matthew and Camila McConaughey and is dedicated to empowering high school students to lead active lives and make healthy choices to become great men and women." (http://www.jklivinfoundation.org/about/)

I have the last one on the blog for you today!

Wooderson

This polish was also a lot of fun! It reminds me of a very pretty coral stone. <3 So unique compared to all the other polishes in my collection.

Wooderson is a peachy pink (somewhat coral) colored polish that has different sized white glitters and brown glitters throughout the polish. Like all Vapid Lacquer polishes, Wooderson is 5-Free and cruelty free.

Every time I get a glitter polish I prepare myself for the possibility of struggling with the application. This was not the case with Wooderson. Application was great and I only used 2 coats of polish to achieve this look. You really do not need to fish for glitters, although the large round white glitters were a little harder to pull out. (This could be due to the fact that I was using a mini bottle though).

I received so many compliments on this one! It is so unique and fun! :)

Wooderson is available for purchase on the Vapid Lacquer website for only $10 for a full size (15mL) or $5 for a mini (5mL). If you end up wanting all three (which I completely recommend because they are so fun!) then the price is RIGHT at only $27 for the three full sizes or $14 for the three mini sizes.

Vapid Lacquer L-I-V-I-N

If you read my last post you would have seen that Krys from Vapid Lacquer/Smelly Goods & Pretties recently sent me three polishes from her Good Causes...

(Left to right: Wooderson, Alright alright alright, and L-I-V-I-N).

I have the next polish from the JKL collection to show you tonight!

L-I-V-I-N:

L-I-V-I-N is a creamy yellow based polish with fun different sized purple and green glitters and a pinch of gold hex glitters. This polish (as well as all of Vapid Lacquer polishes) is a 5-Free and cruelty free polish.

I used Orly Melodious Utopia as a base for this polish, but you can wear it without undies (hehehe) also. The following picture was taken from the Vapid Lacquer website to show L-I-V-I-N without undies. (tehe)

I had a lot of fun with this polish!

L-I-V-I-N applies really well. I used only 1 coat of polish over my base yellow polish. The Vapid Lacquer site says 2-3 coats for an opaque look without undies.

You will not have to worry about fishing for glitter with this polish! The brush pulls an abundance out with each stroke! Very impressive for a glitter polish! As always, I applied Vapid Lacquer Quick Dry Top Coat on top! If you have not purchased this wonderful topcoat you should do it now!!

L-I-V-I-N is available for purchase on the Vapid Lacquer website for only $10 for a full size (15mL) or $5 for a mini (5mL). If you end up wanting all three (which I completely recommend because they are so fun!) then the price is RIGHT at only $27 for the three full sizes or $14 for the three mini sizes.

I will be showing these polishes in a series of three posts.

First up is:

Alright Alright Alright is a gorgeous greenish blue linear holographic polish. This polish is also 5-Free and made with cruelty free materials. (As are all Vapid Lacquer polishes!)

The formula of this polish is amazing, goes on smooth, and quick to dry. (I have never been disappointed with polish from Krys). Even better that you only need 2 coats of polish to achieve a look like mine! Paired with her quick dry top coat (which I covet!) it is pure perfection. <3

Just look at the amazing sparkle this polish has!? How could you say no to this gorgeous beauty? Beautiful polish. . . awesome cause. . . Just smile and tell your hubby it's for charity! ;)

You will need sunglasses in person for this baby!

Aly's Dream Polish swatch and review

A little while back I applied to swatch and review some polish from Aly's Dream Polish. I was so surprised and excited when I received a blogger pack in the mail!! (Sent to me for an honest review) :)

Aly sent me 3 lovely holographic polishes: Browncoats, Cherry Blossom Pink and Vivid Violet

(Please note the above picture was taken with flash. Polishes from left to right are: Browncoats, Vivid Violet and Cherry Blossom Pink).

Browncoats:

Browncoats is a brown holographic polish. It is also a 4-Free polish that is made from cruelty free materials! (I LOVE this about indie nail polish!) The above picture is without topcoat, however still has awesome shine!

I am super impressed by the quality of Browncoats! The formula is great and I only needed 2 coats to achieve this look. (You could get away with only one coat though!) Dry time was fairly quick as well.

I caught a sun shot!

Check out that sparkle! LOVE IT!

Cherry Blossom Pink:

Cherry Blossom Pink is a soft pink holographic polish. It is also 4-Free and made with cruelty free materials.

I was able to caught many sun shots with this beauty!

Cherry Blossom Pink is such a gorgeous color! The quality is excellent just like Browncoats. I used only 2 coats of polish to achieve this look. (However, you can get away with one coat with this one. Same with Browncoats). Dry time was fabulous. I am a huge fan of fast drying polish.

Cherry Blossom Pink is a great color if you are feeling like having some sparkle but want to be a bit subtle. I'm stashing this with my interview polishes! ;)

Vivid Violet:

Vivid Violet is an absolutely gorgeous holographic violet polish. Completely true to it's name as it is a very vivid violet color! This beauty is also a 4-Free and cruelty free polish. I used 2 coats of polish to achieve this look. (Again, you can get away with one coat on this beauty as well!)

I immediately fell in love with this one! I have to say that this color is my favorite of the three (BUT I am in LOVE with all three. Had Aly not sent to them me I would have surely have bought them myself!)

I was really hoping for some sun with this last one. (Such a tragedy that it decided to hide the past few days). So I was forced to take a picture with flash. I will have an updated photo on my Facebook page as we are supposed to have sun tomorrow!

Fantastic! I am already staring at my nails and I can only imagine how GORGEOUS they will look in the sun! (Oh please, oh please, oh please come out to play tomorrow Mr. Sun!)

I am super impressed with the quality of Aly's Dream Polish! I can see what all the hype is about now. You can rest assure she has earned a lifetime customer in me!
Each of these polishes can be purchased on the website Aly's Dream Polish for only $12 a bottle. Be prepared to drool when you visit the website! There is so much holo-y goodness on it!
